Abigail Breslin Lands Grown-Up Role In 'Final Girl'

Abigail Breslin isn't the adorable little girl we remember in the 2006 indie flick Little Miss Sunshine anymore. At age 16, the actress is taking on a new, mature role in photographer Tyler Shields' film Final Girl.

Not set to be released until 2013, Shields shared photos of his film's stars, Breslin and American Beauty actor Wes Bentley, 34. The celebrity photographer wrote on his website: "I have started directing my first Film called Final Girl staring Abigail Breslin Wes Bentley and a whole group of incredible people more updates coming very soon for now here's a little teaser!"

The latest pics show Breslin resembling Marilyn Monroe in a blonde wig and red gown, while Shields is dressed in a tux and holding an old camera in the actress' direction.

According to IMDB, Final Girl is about a pack of teenage boys who choose the wrong girl to be the victim of their "initiation."

Breslin also tweeted about the project, writing: "Insane day of filming today! Literally so stoked @tylershields @alexanderludwig @cameronbright @reecethompson88"

What do you think of the 16-year-old starlet's new look? Is this age appropriate?
